Wabtec Corporation has been awarded a major contract valued at ~₹839 crore to equip Indian Railways’ new Vande Bharat Sleeper fleet with critical braking systems, doors, and gangway solutions.
Under the deal announced on October 27, 2026, Wabtec will also deliver system integration, testing, commissioning, and ongoing operational support. The equipment will support 50 new 24-coach trainsets being built by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), significantly upgrading long-distance safety, reliability, and passenger experience across India's modernizing rail network.
